Manufacturer: Knoll International.
Story or Purpose: The designer wanted to be made as a one piece made out of one material "fiber glass but aluminum was used for the base instead for structural support. 
Inspiration: It was designed to match the complementary dining table. 

What we Like: The smooth shape and curves + the Futuristic"Space Age" look of it that was used in Star Trek.

What we Like: The diamond shape, fluidity and comfortable size. ​

Story or Purpose: Originally designed for the Shroder House in Utrecht, Holland.
Inspiration: The posture of a person sitting.

What we Like: It looks so simple but yet its construction is very complicated. its cantilevered shape gives the perception that it will fall under any weight.

Story or Purpose: Originally designed for tuberculosis patients to sit comfortably and inhale the maximum amout of fresh air.
Inspiration: Marcel Breuer Chair in 1927.

What we Like: The simplcity in its structure using the bent wood technique gives the design it contemporary feel and makes it timeless. 
And the combination of functionality and beauty and the user-centered approch in its design.
